05 — Our story

Born from the back seat of a Rapido auto

It started with a near-miss. Riding in an auto, our founder noticed what every regular passenger in India notices and ignores — the driver's phone buzzing constantly, eyes flicking between the road and three ride-hailing apps at once. One day, that distraction caused a minor accident. Not a headline, not a statistic — just a passenger in the back seat realizing this was going to happen again, to someone else, unless something changed.

That was the trigger to go looking. Conversations with 50+ drivers surfaced the same pattern: multi-apping to survive, and no way to manage it safely. To understand it firsthand, our founder registered as a driver on Uber, Ola, and Rapido and drove for 15–20 days, living the exact chaos he'd witnessed from the other seat.

A market study followed: 84% of surveyed drivers reported the same pain — missed rides, stacked notifications, and the moments right after dropping a passenger being the most chaotic of all.

Today, a founding team spanning product, AI/ML, and web engineering builds OptiRide end to end, guided by ongoing conversations with real drivers. The mission is simple: help drivers earn more, stay focused, and drive safer across every platform they use.
